Ryan was born and raised in West Irondequoit, NY. Soon after graduating from high school Ryan enlisted in the United States Navy where he served active duty on the FFG-41 McClusky as an electrical engineer, first responder fireman, and a part of the Naval Flying Squad. While serving, Ryan met his wife Brittney who also served in the United States Navy.
Upon Completion of service, Ryan and his wife moved to Pittsburgh, PA where Ryan completed the Physical Therapy Assistant program and accepted his first job in a private physical therapy clinic associated with the Pittsburgh Penguins NHL team. Ryan gained extensive knowledge in hands-on manual therapy and strongly believes in the healing power of massage.
Ryan and his wife then moved to Canandaigua, NY where Ryan accepted a position in the joint rehabilitation department at Rochester General Hospital for 2 years, gaining further experience in joint replacements, fall prevention, and stroke rehabilitation.
Ryan left the hospital after 2 years when he and his wife welcomed their son Owen. Ryan returned to the private practice sector to work at Lattimore Physical Therapy of Victor.
