Continuing Education: COMT Certification

At Lattimore Physical Therapy, continuing education is one of our foundational pillars. We believe in the philosophy and famous quote by Bruce Lee that “learning is a constant process of discovery – a process without end.”

Lattimore Physical Therapy puts an emphasis on being extremely hands-on with our patients – prioritizing manual therapies to help our patients improve.

A part of that effort consists of offering our team the opportunity to further their education through coursework. We’ve even had some well-known programs come right into our clinics, so several of our physicians can work through new material at the same time.

Starting this year, we’ve launched our very first cohort of clinical directors working towards their Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapy (COMT) certifications! This has been a major investment that will pay off in better care and outcomes for our patients. In January, about 30 therapists (and at least one from every clinic in the company) became COMT certified.

Continuing education is a primary way we aim to stand out from competitors by offering specialized services company-wide and consistently aiming to improve our own skills and certifications. To learn more, Steve Coleman from our Premier Canandaigua location shares about why continuing education is so important to us.

The Lattimore Physical Therapy & Sports Rehabilitation Network was founded by Physical Therapists John and Cindy Shuman in 1992. Since then Lattimore has grown to 28 locations in 5 different counties. What’s unique about Lattimore is our patient experience. We tailor your 1:1 treatment around your individual needs, conditions, and goals. With us, you’re more than just a number. You’re a member of our local community and we’re invested in your success.
